Maggie Coulter is a long time peace, justice, and environmental activist in Sacramento,
California. In 2008-2009, she spent 8 months in the Middle East, including living six months in
Palestine’s West Bank and traveling in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. She has been giving
talks about her experience living under occupation since she returned at the end of June,
2009. Coulter has served on the Sacramento Area Peace Action Board for several years and is
currently Board President. Coulter holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy from U.C. Berkeley
and an MA in Sociology from U.C. Davis. Professionally she has worked with affordable
housing, at-risk youth, and solid waste management; she also taught sociology at Sacramento
City College.
